Formulas and Run-time Calculations

• Tools, Options dialog box:

  • Automatic (default) recalculates all dependents every time you make a change

    • simple recalculation takes a fraction of a second

  • Manual - Calculates only when requested by the user

    • A good idea for large workbooks as you want to control when recalculation occurs

• Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F9 recalculates absolutely everything in all open workbooks regardless of whether they need to be recalculated
