1. Creating a Text Box

• Text on a slide - standard placeholders:

  • title, subtitle, and bulleted list.

• To add text outside of the standard placeholders,

  • create a text box.

  • Text box doesn't have to be rectangular:

    • use one of PowerPoint's AutoShapes:

      • rectangles, circles, arrows and stars, etc.

• Text in an AutoShape becomes part of the AutoShape.

• Text boxes appear in:

  • Slide pane of Normal view,

  • Slide Sorter view,

  • but not in the Outline pane.
