The purpose of this assignment is to experiment with Microsoft Excel Using Excel Templates dialog box and create a professional-looking invoice.
Use Microsoft Excel to complete this assignment. Start Excel and open the Sales Invoice template in the Spreadsheet Solutions tab of the Templates dialog box.
Hint: To open Templates dialog box, click File menu, New, then click On my computer in the task pane template section.
Click in the Company Information box at the top of the invoice and enter the information as shown in the sample picture below.
Hint: use Alt+Enter combination on the keyboard to enter multiple lines of text in company letterhead.
Scroll to the bottom of the invloice to the Insert Fine Print Here section.
Select the box and use the Edit menu to clear the contents of the box.
Click in the Insert Farewell Statement Here box and enter a text of your choice. For example, "Thank you for your business!"
Save the file as a template: name it "InvoiceTemplate.xlt".
Close the file. Open the custom template file that you've just created using the Spreadsheet Solutions tab of the Templates dialog box.
Complete the invoice as illustrated. Enter a few items in the detail section of the invoice - Qty, Description, Unit Price, and the Total. Enter a dollar amount for shipping charges and the tax rate.
IMPORTANT: Save your invoice as Excel workbook (NOT THE TEMPLATE!), and name it "SalesInvoice.xls".
When done, close the document and exit Excel.
Submit your SalesInvoice.xls file via e-mail attachment sent to:
