39. Characteristic Traits of Fraudsters

• Greedy fraudsters tend to display traits that are the opposites of greed:

• Gratification and Satisfaction:

  • The fraudster feels these as a result of the fraud

• Charity and Generosity:

  • Fraud in non-profits is extremely high (and easier to conceal.)

• Openheartedness:

  • Fraudsters tend to be viewed as nice guys. They may be doing it for a sick family member.

• Popularity:

  • Fraudsters tend to be popular
