21. Animating Text

• Reason for animating text: draw attention to one paragraph at a time

• Create an entrance effect for the text placeholder

• Adjust the effect settings so that the entrance is applied one paragraph at a time.

• Another approach is to use an emphasis instead of an entrance effect:

  • All paragraphs displayed on the slide initially;

  • When you click the mouse the emphasis will be on the relevant paragraph.

• Effect Settings dialog box:

  • Click the down arrow next to the effect,

    • select Effect Options,

      • click Text Animation tab,

        • Group text drop-down box controls how the paragraphs appear.
